The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Tema East Mr. Isaac Ashai Odamtten was on Monday arrested and detained by the police for allegedly causing financial loss to the Tema Metropolitan Assembly during his tenure as Metropolitan Chief Executive.
Mr. Ashai Odamtten and nine other workers of the Tema metropolitan Assembly was arrested on Monday and charged with six counts of causing financial loss to the Tema metropolitan Assembly.
Mr. Isaac Ashai Odamtten was the metropolitan chief Executive from 2017 – 2020 in the previous NDC government. He is currently been held with the nine others for allegedly causing financial loss to the Metropolitan.
The NDC parliamentary candidate have been granted bail in the sum of One million Ghana cedis but he is yet to satisfy the bail conditions. He is currently been held at the community 11 police station awaiting his bail.
Supporters of the National Democratic Congress at tema are currently demonstrating against the arrest of their parliamentary candidate.
